Behind every cup at Yirgacheffe Coffee, you’ll find me, Amira—a computer science student, your barista, and a woman turning a dream into something you can taste.
My roots are Eritrean and Ethiopian, and I grew up with coffee as a reason to slow down, gather, and make room for one more person. I started this little trailer to bring that feeling to my corner of Silver Spring.
“Coffee from my roots” is my story in five words. It honors both sides of my heritage and Ethiopia’s place as the birthplace of coffee. It’s a little piece of where I come from, shared with you.
Between classes and early mornings behind the counter, I’m building something close to my heart. The sweetest part? Watching a first visit become a familiar face, learning your usual, and becoming part of your day.
